Third times a charm for BC

BC defeated Notre Dame Saturday night 4-1 to win thier third National Championship.

Jerry York's crew had lost the last two years in the title game to Wisconsin in 2006 and Michigan State in 2007. The third time was a charm for the Eagles as the 5'6'' speedster Nathan Gerbe helped lead the squad past Noth Dakota 6-1 with a hat trick before netting two goals in the title match ending the Irishes Cinderella season.

Congrats BC!!!!

Ruins, a suprisingly original horror flick while Kings, just a decent crime thiller.

The Ruins:
Many years ago there was a movie about four teenagers who swap out to a raft on a lake, and are stranded when a dark swamp like substance surrounds the raft. The Ruins is great for the same reason, five college students decide to go visit a ancient Mayan ruin, when village of mayans hold them at gun point to stay on the cursed ruin. Little do they know that the ruin has a secret of it's own which may take many of thier lives. The plot is quiet entertaining, literaly being between a rock and a hard place. Despite the plot, at times the movie despite a strong perfomance by Jena Malone, struggles to be completely believable and is a bit dry at points which leaves it out of the A marks.

Overall Rating: 87 B+

The Street Kings:
The Street Kings, with the cast of Forrest Whitiker and Hugh Laurie had solid potential, despite the lead choice of Keeanu Reeves. Surprising, Reeves and Laurie were fanatasitc playing a bad cop and internal affairs captain respectively. Although the plot being quite complcated at times, with a few surprising twists, Whiteker and the supporting cast come across as a watered down band of extras from "Training Day". If your looking for a good copy bad cop crime thriller, Kings is a good fit, anything more and you'd bbe better off renting "Training Day".

Potential Wedding Spot for Tara and Alex's Wedding

After many deliberations, Tara, Alex and family have decided that thier current top pick is to have their wedding held at the Spring House, on Block Island, on June 27th, 2009.

Banditz secure top spot in BSSC post season.

Banditz finished the regular season last night with a 8-4 win over the Elders. This win secured the Banditz the top seed in the BSSC post season.

The Banditz went 7-1-2 this season with lots of contributions from the entire squad including Courtney Harmon, Jaimi Foss, Jen Fournier, Mary Osten, Erik Hajen, Bob McDougal, Dave Hage,John Bernier, Mark DeGregorio and Alex Fritz.

The Banditz will play the winner of the 6pm game between the Greyhawks and Elders this Sunday.

The Bank Job, catches viewers attention.

The Bank Job, is a nice remake of an old fashion bank hiest story by a bunch of non-name minor criminals. The story gets interesting when some of the items which are lifted are discovered to belong to a mix of high profile criminals and political figures. The story takes one more spin when some of the bad news bunch are pinched by the real criminals in a power play. Bank Job is quite entertaining, especially watching Strahan and his gang as they turn the story on it's head by trading item after item with both sides of the law in order to tie up all the loose ends from the hiest.

Overall Rating: 87 B+

Dan in Real Life, a cute family movie.

Dan in Real Life is a nice family movie with Steve Carlisle playing a widower with three daughters on a family vacation, who falls in love with his younger brothers new girl friend. Steve does a fantastic job playing the down and out Dad trying to restart his love life despite numerous odds. He shows sign of Tom Hankisms from Sleapless in Seattle but the whole story ends a bit too happy go lucky for me.

Overall rating: 86 B

Joslin helps little girl smile, but still wonders what country she is in.

Joslin was seen in a small town on the other side of the world today. She made a small child smile by showing the girl the hat she uses to pick up guys at bars in the Wisconsin.

BC overcomes 4-1 deficit in triple overtime to knock off top seeded UNH!!!

When Boson College, a four seed, started the game down 2-0 to the top seeded UNH squad, things looked bad. When the Eagles dropped to a 4-1 deficit in the second period, things looked even worse. But in the end just 43 seconds into the third overtime of the longest semifinal in tournament history, Benn Ferriero was able put the puck past UNH's Kevin Regan to topple the top seed. Regan, who had kept the Wildcats in the game, despite being out shot 67-49, could do nothing but watch the Eagles celebrate after the longest game the Hockey East Tournament 24 year history.

The last roadblock for BC's run at a third straight Hockey East Title is third seeded Vermont Catamounts who they will face off with tonight at the Garden.

Tara and Alex are Engaged!!

Despite the Rockefeller Center being too touristy, Central Park having a minor flood and a small monsoon hitting Manhattan, Tara and Alex got engaged last weekend at the South Street Seaport.

Tara and Alex had been going out for just under four years and met each other at eight minute dating at SoHo in Brighton, MA.

Thanks again to her sister Courtney and Tara's parents for thier support over the last few weekends helping Alex get all this setup.

There has been a Joslin sighting!!!!

Recently Joslin was seen by a cobra charmer near a dessert somewhere in the country of India. Here is the last picture of the adventurer, who rumor had it had been planning to join a race across the Sahara dessert. When asked why she planned to enter the race her comment was "I saw it in a movie (Hidalgo) once. I figure after getting laser eye surgery and a root canal, with no novocaine from a man with a set a pliers, my camel (Marvin)and I can do anything".

Only time will tell, but apparently Las Vegas has built this confidence into their gaming line on the race. She is currently a 25 to 1 favorite.

Doomsday Review

Doomsday, although moderately entertaining with it's Mad Max like characters and 28 days later story line, couldn't execute much more entertainment than a high octaine car chase that leaves the viewer a bit bored when the bad guy "Saul" finally bits the dust. Although it get's an A for effort and introduction, it fails to capitalize on original twists from other movis plots by killing off or running away from all the interesting characters in the virus ridden captivity zone of Scotland. Doomesday despite a decent plot, only left me wondering more about what would have happened if Mad Max had been dropped in the middle of a virus ridden Scotland in 2035, than what will happen to any of the characters at the end of this movie.
